Puget Sound Indicators

Puget Sound Indicators help us to monitor and evaluate progress towards our goals for a healthy Puget Sound ecosystem and human population.

Vital Signs and their Indicators represent the measures of “ultimate outcomes” shared and embraced by the Puget Sound recovery community. These Indicators cover the condition and trends of ecosystem components that are critical to understand, monitor, and assess on an ongoing basis.

Action Agenda Progress Indicators track the human activities that negatively or positively improve the Vital Sign Indicators. These metrics provide feedback on the collective performance of recovery efforts and help the recovery community invest more efficiently in those issues that need the most attention.

Together, these two types of Indicators comprise the Puget Sound Indicator system.
